What We Miss When AI Becomes the Whole Conversation
By Michael Smedley

AI deserves attention, but it does not deserve to flatten every other conversation.
When leaders become fixated on the newest capability, they often neglect the slower work that actually compounds. Clear positioning. Better management. Sharper offers. Trust with clients. Cleaner delivery systems. These are less glamorous and far more durable.
That is why I prefer a grounded view. Use AI aggressively where it helps. Learn the tools. Experiment quickly. But do not let the excitement erase the fundamentals. Businesses do not grow because they mentioned AI enough times in a meeting.
They grow because someone made the proposition clearer, the team stronger, the product more useful, or the customer journey easier to trust. AI can support that work. It cannot replace the need to do it.
